Description
This is a painting of one of my favorite places on earth: Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. As I took an early morning walk, I came across these unshorn sheep enjoying the springtime pasture. I stood and watched them for quite some time, soaking up the light, shadows and life around me as well as the spectacular backdrop of the butte beyond. It was certainly a moment that needed to be painted.

Who could resist these beautiful woolly sheep? You have painted them so beautifully. In the northeast we occasionally encounter sheep in the road if they have gotten through the fence somewhere. Your painting shows them in such a beautiful setting that it makes me want to visit New Mexico again and look for them!
