Love the whole concept of the painting on a slab of wood. I wanted a five foot piece to lean against the wall and this fit the bill. Great piece by a talented artist. Painting came packed very nicely, almost too nicely, it was a arduous task just getting it out of the box, but I finally made it happen!!!

I love my prints from Beverly Guilliams collection. I have my timeout chair #2 and Room for 2 with an ocean breeze. I hung them together and they take me to the beach, the place that I love. Thank you Beverly for your beautiful work.

I love this picture. The plywood used is good quality. I like the way you can see the whole picture with no matting or frame. I got the next-to-smallest size for a narrow spot and it is perfect.

Looking for more of the same style....

Artist's Description

This close-up of an Eastern Brown Pelican shows off its vivid color and varied textures. The artist has always wondered what pelicans must be thinking as they sit there trying to pretend they're invisible. The rosey pink background gives this work a slight unearthly quality and ties in the rest of the colors. Textures abound, with the different types of feathers and the scumbled texture of the bone-like beak. This painting is one of the latest in the artist's line of "whimsical" animals, and this one fits right in to that theme!

About Scott Plaster

Scott Plaster

WATCH Video about NC Whimsical Artist Scott Plaster J. Scott Plaster grew up in Denton, North Carolina and was exposed to art at an early age. He still remembers how his father would draw Picaso-esque figures for his son to paint with basic student tempura paints on manilla drawing paper. When some kids were awaiting video games and toys from Santa Claus for Christmas, Plaster was eager to get paint, canvas, and pastels. Plaster was oil painting by the age of ten and found his inspiration in the works of Van Gogh, the French Impressionists, and other early modern artists. As a self-taught artist, Plaster began subscribing to The Artists' Magazine as a teenager and immersed himself in art history and technique books of a broad variety....
