The ruins of the church of St. Thomas a Beckett, Heptonstall. Thomas Beckett was the Archbishop of Canterbury and was murdered in his own cathedral in 1170. The church at Heptonstall was dedicated to him and consecrated in 1260. It was expanded over the years until it was severely damaged in a storm in 1874.
