Using as a wallet
I painted this as part of my "Greetings from St. Augustine" series. The campy paintings feature skeletons as tourists in the "Oldest City in the USA," capering on and around St. Augustine landmarks.
In this painting, a skelly has just ruined a classic picture of the pirate ship that's docked in the city of St. Augustine, Florida.
I love painting skeletons in St. Augustine. It cracks me up to think of spirits as bags of bones, wandering around the Ancient City and doing things that tourists and residents like to do. This year, 2015, is the 450th anniversary of the Ancient City of St. Augustine. I bet some of those ghosts have been around even longer!
