Description
Reconstruction of the interior of an Early Bronze Age pile dwelling in the Archaeological Museum of Desenzano del Garda. It uses artefacts found at the excavations at Lavagnone, once a former lake, now a drained peat bog. The food preparation, cooking and storage area is shown. Pollen analysis has revealed a glimpse of the inhabitants diet which included many edible plants, particularly fruits such as blackberries, wild strawberries, cherries, hazelnuts, figs, and grapes. It is hoped that further paleobotanical research will provide more information on the diet, lifestyle and history of these human populations.
