Description
This Apple Blossom Amaryllis, seen here in a close-up view, is strikingly beautiful with its two-toned colours of white with deep pink accents, seemingly seeping its way around the petals of the flower like ink flows on paper. In this intimate look, we see the petals, which normally look strong and taught, are actually somewhat limp, and in some places, decorated with gathered portions like the bottom of a Spanish lady dancer's dress. This Amaryllis is made even more delicate looking due to the rain and dew drops that dawn it after a damp day, which evoke an almost melancholic feeling, spurred usually from the sight of tears, which match the mood of this gray day at the Public Gardens, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. But luckily, they are but pink rainsdrops today, or look this way due to the colour of the flower that reflects through these natural hydrating pearls, and soon, the sun will come again to lift the clouds and turn up the frowns, and dry away the raindrop tears from this beautiful bulbed perennial flower from the Hippeastrum Hybrid family of Amaryllis.
