My gosh Sue, this is a fantastic shot. It almost makes me sick to my stomach that someone would set fire to that beautiful boat. Maybe whoever owned it had to get rid of it, but surely it could have been stripped for salvage, or something rather than just torching it. What a shame. My name's Lynne, and my husband, Don Wright started Abandoned and Forlorn last March, had to give up the admin duties due to health problems. A and F is a really great site. I have a big favor to ask, and I'd certainly not blame you for not agreeing to it, but I am a painter in oils and watercolors and I would like to ask your permission to paint this wonderful old vessel some day. Evem of upi agree. it may be sometime before I can do it. I'm working on a book cover for a fellow right now, and have two other paintings in the works. If I were to paint it, I would change the surroundings, the sky, etc., so in no way would it resemble your wonderful photograph. I have no desire to copy another's work. You can find me here on FAA under my name, Lynne Wright, if you'd like to get an idea of what I do. Thanks so much for your time and consideration. Lynne.

Thank you, Cheryl, for your comment and your vote! I've been trying to find the first pictures I took of this ship, but they are on film and are more difficult to find than digital. One of these days...
