Description
Golden afternoon sun graces the ancient village of Portovenere on the Italian western coast. You can see the whole of the old town and the small marina. This is a popular tourist spot, not only for its charm, but because this is where you get the boat to the Cinque Terre just north. It is surrounded by steep hills, which have homes and rental cottages. The stairs to these places are many and steep, but it lets you get up high enough to get pictures like this.
It takes some effort to get here, but it's well worth it.This is one of a series of photographs taken while we rented a cottage up in the hills. You can read about this escapade in my wife's book, "Making Limonata"(https://www.amazon.com/Making-Limonata-Leann-Horrocks-ebook/dp/B00408ASNC/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Making+Limonata+Horrocks+book&qid=1580064102&sr=8-1)
