Artist's Description
This is a portrait of my beautiful soay ewe Shulah. She is one of twins and they are both fabulous sheep. Soays can become very tame, as mine are, and eat out of your hand. I have a young male Soay who actually puts his feet up on the park gate now to try to get to the ewe nut bucket. I always have some in my hand to give them all just to keep them tame and not afraid. They are a special little flock.

I am a native Shetlander with a huge interest in agricultural and portrait photography. As you will see by my photos, sometimes I combine the two!! I keep fourteen sheep who are almost all completely tame and can be hand fed. I've been interested in photography for a long time but it's only in the last 8 years or so that I've taken it more seriously. My sister, Anne Macdonald, whose incredible work is also on this site, is a great encouragement to me. We can often both be seen out together with our cameras, although our areas of interest are quite dissimilar. As a Christian I celebrate God's creation every day. There is no end of inspiration in the world outside. Look for that new leaf, that spark in a glance, that heavenly hue. That...
