Frankly did not expect the card to look as pictured. I had the original card - it was the full picture - not half showing "drews"

I want to send this lovely photo to a little girl whose mother is expecting another child very soon. It may be difficult for her to share her parents with a new baby, but in this image, the baby elephant looks protected because it's between the mother and the sibling.

Love this particular card of the French biochemist, because he looks so handsome in this picture. I have been mailing Dr Pasteur greeting cards to celebrate that we are getting vaccinated against covid!

The cards were beautifully printed and resembled the artwork accurately. I will enjoy sending them as Christmas cards this year.

Artist's Description

Oils on panel 14 x 12" 1999 Finished in 1984. Sold that year. The owner traded it back to me in 1999 for another painting. It was badly nicked and scratched so I had to repair it and update it slightly with my then finer technical skills. My favorite author. There is no color photo of this. My reference is a B & W photo on the back of the book "The Early Ayn Rand". Drab dress with a little tear, the kind of dress her here-to-fore prosperous family was reduced to after the Soviets destroyed Russia, nationalizing her father's pharmacy. I imagined all the color, and that surely she would have found a way to put some color, a flower or something in that torn dress.

I had a No. 2 pencil and a pad of ordinary writing paper. I'd draw the Japanese Elms in our front yard, my dad's car out front and the corn field across the street. Grass, sidewalk and street etc. The piano keys inside.... My parents saw fit to keep their shy son out of Kindergarten, so I never did learn to socialize. Started 1st grade at St. Lawrence Catholic School at age 5 (just missed the...
