Lovely card
I found this when going through my Pop's things.
I could not at this time upload the bottom of the picture which shows more of the chin and collar.
In any case, I am proud of my father's talent.
He had left me in body but is with me in spirit.
He was a deacon in the Baptist Church for many years.
He painted the "Baptistry" background, showing beautiful water and trees and sky at the church where I grew up in, so to speak. I was also baptized there.
Pop looked at a photo of Billy Graham from one of his books and just copied it.
Easy for Pop to do...but not easy for me.
Sometimes i wish I had asked Dad more questions and watched him paint.
This painting was done about 40 years ago.
The orig. in not for sale.
I love to paint! Although I do have a serious side, I am usually smiling, especially when I am painting or viewing other artists' work on FAA and commenting. Thank you for viewing my FAA site. I have a mixture of paintings and photos here. Some of my paintings on on display at two locations in the Smithfield, VA area. I have sold a few paintings locally as well as via FAA. I am fortunate to have spare time to paint. I retired early from my teaching career. I taught second grade in the Hampton City School System for 24 years. Here is my e-mail address in case you'd like to write a private e-mail to me: dnawhiteway@verizon.net Here is a list of the images that I have on FAA. . However, you can click on...

Hi Anne-Elizabeth, There are a some people that truly inspire me on FAA and you are certainly one of them . I am so glad my painting cheered you up ..thank you I saw your portrait of Billy Graham and remembered how he also inspired me .. I am not religious but I do believe.. I was a young flight attendant and Billy Graham was one of the passengers.. He was returning to the USA after a Crusade in Trinidad .. I served him on the plane and sat and had a long chat with him . Before he left he tore a page out of his note book and wrote on it 'May God always Bless you Karin' and then he signed his name ... I still have that page today .. And I have always been blessed... Thank you this painting you did of him is so wonderful ... Karin

Thank you CAROLE so much. I found this with Dad's things packed up in the garage. I would like to send a good copy to Rev. Graham and family. If knew the correct address, I would If I sent it to his general conglomerate organization, I am afraid it would be mixed in with the other tons of mail they receive through their Evangelical Ministry. Any suggestions?

Hi Anne- Elizabeth, Wow, Billy Graham and his family members would certainly enyoy a card from you of this wonderful portrait. Your dad really captured the fiery passion in his eyes, his strength of character, the determined set of his jaw, - a man with a mission, And many thanksfor comments on my little parasol doll. She was hand crocheted by my grandmothers best friend. It remains precious to me. To be continued, Carole

Beautiful portrait Anne. You very obviously inherited your father's artistic talent and I'm sure he's looking down with a proud twinkle in his eyes.
