Good quality canvas, and the photos looks great.

I was very disappointed as the picture on the front of the bag has a black background but the lining on all of these bags is grey. It looks so dreadful I’m sure it even looks worse with a light or pastel coloured cover. As you use it this grey keeps showing giving it a cheap look. it would be so much better without lining if grey is the best you can do. Also the fabric is too soft and droops if the bag isn’t full. So you end up having a droopy bag with grey lining showing. It would be so much better to make this style in the fabric you use in the standard tote. It keeps its shape and the image on this fabric is much clearer. Also it doesn’t need to be lined.

Love this tote, very large and rugged for me to carry books in. Adorable illustration from a gourmet magazine cover. High quality.

Artist's Description

This portrait is of my sister Peggy Ann, who departed this earth on April 12, 2013. I used as my reference photo a picture I took of her one night several years ago, when we were up late talking. She had asked me to try to do a quick sketch of her, and struck this pose when I told her yes, it was okay for her to close her eyes. I was so struck by the serenity of the expression on her face, that I snapped a shot with my cell phone and held on to it. She was a 12 year survivor of cancer, and grateful to God for every day she had to spend on this earth with the people she loved. When I commented to her on the beauty of her expression that night she said, "I was praying."

About Mary Beglau Wykes

In 2008, Mary Begau Wykes made the decision to pursue her lifelong dream of being an artist. Though she had always had a yearning to paint, prior to that point she had not had the courage to pursue her dream. She had, however, always made a point of including creative pursuits in her life. Other creative activities have included singing, songwriting, playing piano and guitar, quilting, crochet, knitting, macrame and spinning her own yarn. Thinking that she had 'missed the boat' by not pursuing formal education in art, Mary held back on pursuing her dream of painting for many years. Prior to 2008, Mary had had one semester of high school art, and several months of an oil painting class in her late 20's, she continued to hold back until...
