The Gerald S. Burns Building in Pawtucket, Rhode Island was an ornate structure when this card was postmarked on October 12, 1908.
Along with the Deborah Cook Sayles Building, it is now part of the Pawtucket Public Library and continues to maintain its distinctive style.

The composite images of old photographs, antique photo postcards, and modern day photographs you see here are the result of a project that started several years ago simply for my own enjoyment. Beginning with just a few pictures from my home town in Rhode Island, I set out envisioning what the buildings, streets, and other scenes of a century ago would look like if they were dropped into a modern day setting.
