Like the logo but not the tank top so much it rides to low at the front and the back.
RKO Radio Pictures was nearly always on the verge of bankruptcy but in 1935 they made a $684,000 profit, their first money making year since 1930. "Annie Oakley" is a highly romanticized, fictional version of the famed sharp shooter's life.
Annie appeared in Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West along with Sitting Bull and long time Tombstone resident, bronc riding Sid Wilson.
"In 1894, Oakley and (husband Frank) Butler performed in Edison's Kinetoscope film, The 'Little Sure Shot of the Wild West,' an exhibition of rifle shooting at glass balls, etc. Filmed November 1, 1894, in Edison's Black Maria studio by William Heise (0:21 at 30 frame/s; 39 ft.), it was about the 11th film made after commercial showings began on April 14, 1894."
I first became obsessed with photography and motion pictures while growing up in post WW2 Manila in the Philippine Islands in the late 1940's/early 1950's. Film noirs were a particular influence. But my first love remains the theater. I acted in numerous amateur productions from 1958 to 1978. In 1979 I earned a MA in drama from the University of Arizona; earlier getting a BA in English from the University of Minnesota, where I co-founded the first film society on campus and ran it for four years. While at the U of A, I studied with the master black and white photo essayist W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) the last year of his life. I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
