May lives near the sea, in the far East or here in the south east. Spending a large part of her life on the river; sailing, wind surfing or kayaking, she seems inseparable with water. At the same time, she is connected with clay ever since she was a teenager. No matter where she went, she found her creative outlet with clay. In search of the passed time, and memories of the sea, she creates works which reminds us the feel and the touch we long for, and the layers of life. Also, by drawing and layering on the surface of clay, she show us the interesting potential of clay. Glazing is her other specialty. She sprays a very simple palette; Shino and Celadon. But, the unique temper of these glazes shows you a record of the flame on the pot. May learns from many masters. Recently, she finished an "8 Months Journey" with Steven Hill, which ended with a group show in Sandwich, IN.
