A lovely painting but it was a little dark on the canvas. If I were to reorder, I might order as a print instead, hoping it might be a little brighter.

This was a good canvas but I may order it in a different format to show the iiridescence of the feathers so it will be more true to the original.

I was very excited to discover this piece as it has several memorial sentiments on it and they are all beautiful. I got one that I can hang on the wall and it's a beautiful job. Very touching and the artist was great
Artist's Description
Habitat for Teacapan is an Amigos de Teacapan, a charitable organization located in the village of Teacapan, Sinaloa, Mexico. This painting portrays the pouring of a cement roof. Men carry 5 gallon buckets of cement, up hand made wooden ladder, to pour the roofs of house. The cement is hand mixed on the ground and then transported by hand to the roof. The forms for the roof are supported by poles often made from tree branches, thus they are usually very crooked.
About Buster Dight
Buster was an award winning water colorist in high school but left his love of painting behind and pursued a forty year career with the Boeing Company. Upon retirement he picked up his brushes and once again began painting. He was juried into the prestiges Art and Crafts Gallery on Bainbridge Island where he lives with his wife. His paintings are in Canada, Mexico, Japan and many states in the US. He studied with noted south-west artist Evelyn Boren and more currently with his favorite artist/teacher Tony Couch. Other artists who have significant influence on his work are Ed Whitney and Tom Lynch. My wife and I were born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, but since my retirement we have spent close to four months a year in Mexico....
