This is Giant Panda cub, Bei Bei. He is 10 months old here. Notice the smudge of orange under his right eye, that's sweet potato. It's one of his favorite foods. Photo taken at Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, DC.
Not to long ago, pandas were listed as critically endangered. Thanks to the hard work of the panda reserves in China and zoos around the world, they are now listed as vulnerable. Progress is being made, but we must remain vigilant.
