I wanted to get something special for a grandson going to UC Irvine. The towel is soft, colorful and looks absorbent. When folding it, it looks like some of the fibers were broken so I am concerned whether it will hold up.

I ordered a black and white hand towel, but what I received was purple and blue. Thinking it was a mistake, I requested an exchange, only to be told that this is how the colors print, and a replacement would look the same. So much for an artistic platform! I was offered a refund if I destroyed the towel and submitted proof—but that felt wasteful and environmentally irresponsible. I’ve decided to repurpose it as a dish towel instead. I very much like the art and design of the piece. It's the quality of the execution that's lacking Overall, I’m disappointed by the poor color accuracy and lack of care from a site that claims to support artists.
This painting is is juried into the spring 2020 NW Watercolor Society show! The Princess Lace echeveria succulent attracted my attention with its vivid color in the succulent garden bowl on a California patio. I was just moving out of a phase of painting Persistence of Pink macro views of flowers and this seemed like a good transition to another direction. That new direction became a series of succulents that I spent 2018 working on for a November show in Anacortes, WA.
The art is professionally photographed which will make reproductions impossible to discern from the original painting other than the deckle edge of the painting which is part of the original art.
For the past few years I've been painting flowers up so close that they envelope the viewer in their sensuality and rich color. Enlarged, they become almost abstractions from nature without seeing the outer shape or the environment around them.
This watercolor is painted on 300# Arches Cold Press paper....
Watercolor is my medium. I zoom in and compose from my photos to fill a picture plane with a compelling design that takes the viewer into an abstract and sensual world. I look for beautiful transitions of color or textures that could be expressed luminously with my many glazes of watercolor, or that might provide an opportunity for me to try new painting techniques. I paint the inner landscape of flowers calling these works Floralscapes. The shapes, designs and patterns inside flowers and plants are the subject that awakened my love of painting, giving me a chance to create images of stunning beauty while merging realism with an abstract sense of design.
