Description
This is a photo of my Father Clyde Roberts portraying his character of an old prospector. My Father loves donkeys and mules, and he owns many of them. He had it in his head for a long time to dress up as an old timer or prospector and pose with one of his donkeys so I could take their photos. Once my Mother finally found a silly looking hat that he liked, I was told he was ready and to bring my camera with me!
My Father who is usually serious and sometimes downright grouchy has always had a bit of a fun and silly side to him. We all love that about him. Out of nowhere he gets these ideas in his head, can be very funny on a whim, and has spontaneous creativity within him. I think that my creative spark comes directly from my Father.
We had a great time doing the photos together. Well, I'm not so sure the donkey Shaggy enjoyed it very much, but oh well, he's an ass!
Prospecting is physical labor, involving traversing (traditionally on foot or on horseback), panning, sifting and outcrop investigation, looking for signs of mineralisation, or "Gold in Dem Hills!"

You did a great job on this shot Mary.. it does look very vintage the way you used the sepia tones.. :-) Vote

ah ha I see, I'll have to download through amazon and check it out. This picture is of my father and his name is Clyde. I have more pics I will be putting up of this series soon. The idea for these pics came from him. He knows I take photos, and he told me he has been wanting to dress up like this forever and pose with his donkeys and for me to take photos of him. I was so pleased with how the photos turned out, and even more pleased that he liked them and had a good time doing them, too!
