simply amazing imagination, skill and execution

Your work is outstanding Patricia.A cut above.Love it.

I love this one, too. I love the water, along with the warm colors of the Protea (and your, I think, made up names), and the sense of space in the water, or the wetness of it, created by the march of the Protea ranks into progressive immersion. I love it!

I carved 3 Kokopelli figures and one sunburst onto a 36" wide board, next, I needed to paint them. Sadly, I'm from Atlanta, so, I don't know the SW pallet of colors. That's why I bought your painting - to glean inspiration. Your pallet has helped enormously. Of course, I didn't slavishly copy your mixtures; instead, I created my own. However, it must be stated that yours opened my eyes to some exciting choices. I'm nearly done painting the 3-D figures. When I'm finished, I'll send you a photo if you are really interested.

Love this art work. It is the Center piece of my living room. We are a fly fishing family and this couldn’t have been better.

Just love it. I get a smile on my face when ever I see it. Such a fantastic artwork. Bobby Zeik has a great sense of humor, color, texture. The perfect combination of an iconic image and artistic expression. The posters came very quickly nicely rolled in a tube. The paper quality is excellent.

I am the author of "Frank K. Hain and the Manhattan Railway, the Elevated Railway (1875-1903)," published by McFarland & Co., 2011. My book has many elevated train photos, but not this particular one I purchased your art because it mirrored the ones in my book and is posting size. It now hangs on a wall in my office. The art work is excellent and the photo paper is very high quality. It is a top notch product and I am proud to have it on my wall.

Artist's Description

Protea madida is an amphibious plant: a plant that has both an aquatic and a terrestrial habit. They are primarily found in volcanic active regions around Tonga and tolerate high levels of phosphorus and heat. Protea madida are usually the first large plants to populate newly formed islands.

About Patricia Van Lubeck

Patricia Van Lubeck

Born in Amsterdam in 1965, living and working in Australia at this moment. My recently created oil paintings are all about 'individualism'. Most of the people can associate themselves with one of the trees in the paintings. The trees are performing like actors. Every person is gifted with at least one special thing in life, so you easily can personify yourself with one of the actors. As the brave one, the cheeky one, or the lucky one. But also if you don't take the titles too literally, you can see the solo acting tree as a leading one in a group, a showing one in a circle of viewers or a guiding one in front of a public. In some way, we all are the one. Even if it is for just once.
