Robert, thanks for your comment. This painting looks at the connection between the rise of protestantism and industrial capitalism and the shared values promoted by both (such as dsicipline and restraint). Whether these are considered beneficial or not is something that the viewer will have already decided.

So what would your world be like without restraint or discipline? Why protestant as opposed to any other group? Art is a voice but just because we can say anything we want dosn't mean we should. The gift of a voice requires the hard work of thought.
