Description
Pterosaur means "winged lizard” and refers to any number of extinct flying reptiles that lived during the time of the dinosaurs. They were also the first animals after insects to evolve powered flight by flapping their wings to generate lift and travel through the air. That’s what these clouds above the lone saguaro look like especially with the colors of the sunrise slightly enhanced. These modern day pterosaurs can be seen quite often in the Sonoran Desert about 50 miles southwest of Phoenix, Arizona.
