Description
A punt approaches Houghton Mill on the River Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire, England, UK on a summer's day.
Houghton Mill is the only remaining water mill on the River Great Ouse. The mill is five stories high and built of timber framing, clad with weatherboard.
It was built in the 17th century and enlarged in the 19th century. In Victorian times the mill ran many seperate pairs of grinding wheels, but the wheels were removed in the 1930s. One pair of wheels was restored in 1999 by the National Trust who now own the building.
