Description

The road from Bonnievale to Robertson in the Western Cape Province of South Africa is lined with flowers between it and the vineyards and orchards, making it one of the prettiest roads in the country in late Springtime. This particular stretch is lined with flowering purple jacaranda trees.

I named this painting *Purple Defiance* because despite nonsensical legislation to eradicate these beautiful trees from the landscape because they were *Alien Invaders*, the local people steadfastly refused to do so. Sometimes the corrupt ineptitude of government officials defied description, this kind of thing happened regularly when stupidity and pilfering by politicians became public and they tried to create smokescreens by meddling with things that worked. Power to the farmers!

The original has been stolen twice, once by someone I trusted, the second time by another. It is unavailable and I do not have a file that is large enough in order to sell on this site. I have posted this painting in the wild hope that just MAYBE someone may know where it is :-(
