Product Review Image

I had an old picture frame with a rather generic painting in it, so I ordered this classic poster of young King Edward VI posing proudly at age 12 , around the year 1550. I had the mat custom made. I have some medieval decor in my small cottage, and this looks nice in one of my rooms. I've read quite a lot about Edward, who was the King in minority rule from age 9 until he died at age 15. I greatly admire his wisdom and intelligence at such a young age. Edward has been called the forgotten boy king, but I for one am remembering the lad. I expected this poster to be hard to find, but Fine Art America had it in many sizes and options. I received the poster rolled up as expected, but cleverly placed in a triangular package, so when I took it out of the package the poster rolled out flat, perfectly. Tom, Nashville IN

Artist's Description

A group of people with umbrellas stand on a wet street, casting reflections on the shiny surface beneath them. Warm tones of gold, brown, and yellow dominate the painting, contrasting with the cool blues and purples of the umbrellas. Bright light suggests a setting sun or a city bathed in the warm glow of evening.

About Tate Hamilton

Tate Hamilton

I have been painting for many years and enjoy painting in a "painterly" style. To create my style I use the general "painterly" philosophy, large shapes which begin with my darkest darks and whittle them down into smaller lighter shapes. I generally only use a #12 brush and get big thick brushstrokes. I only use 5 colors on my palette: Cad yellow,Cad red,Alizarin Crimson,Ultramarine blue and Sap green. These 5 have painted everything you will see on this website. I can paint just about any subject and prefer painting cityscapes. Painting to me is about having fun and challenging myself, using the basic visual elements. Email me with questions, comments or if you wish to purchase one of my paintings.
