Love the painting and the rich colorful blues, reds, greens, & yellows! A nice addition to our cowboy/southwest decor vibe.

Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.

Artist's Description
Late one evening in 1992, I was printing in my studio. Dissatisfied and frustrated with the results, I tore the prints into pieces. As I began to discard them, several juxtaposed scraps unexpectedly caught my attention. They suggested natural forms and initiated a passage from nature to abstraction. These shapes suddenly began to resemble the varied hardwoods of my native Flemington, Florida, the hibiscus and palm trees, and many hues found on various bushes and trees in St. Petersburg and Tallahassee. I was challenged to create something significantly different than I had done before. The results were silkscreen constructions, dynamic compositions created by silk screening large sheets of color and inventing images as I cut an assemble the piece. Rain is one of a series of many of these silk screen constructions an abstraction of the beauty of rain and the lush green landscapes I have experienced.
About Ken Falana
The third born in a family of fourteen children in Flemington, Florida, Ken Falana began drawing in the 1950's and fondly remembers an aunt and uncle, with whom he sometimes lived in St. Petersburg, Florida, taking him to the Ringling Museum in Sarasota. There, he became enamored with classical and Renaissance nude sculpture and began drawing them. Unaware that he was continuing the time-honored, centuries old tradition of copying from a classical nude example, he simply followed his natural inclination to draw. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Falana studied with printmakers Dean Meeker and Warrington Colescott, of which Dean Meeker has the larger impact. After receiving his MFA in 1972, Falana accepted a teaching...
