Description
The Ravenna Gorge Viaduct was first constructed in 1885 and was rebuilt in the 20's to straighten out the line so that trains could travel faster and safer though this region of Germany's Black Forest. It was destroyed by the Germans during World War II and rebuilt during the French Occupation after the war using German Prisoners of War. It is a mortared stone arch bridge with nine arches that span the gorge below and is still in use today.
