I am Danny Ray Lowe. I am just an old man who likes to paint. I like to paint something that I can become lost in while I'm painting it and for a while afterwards. I love using the palette knife and think of myself as a paint dauber. I am in my seventies. I am an army veteran with many agent orange related medical problems. I have severe peripheral neuropathy, mainly in my feet and legs, and some in my hands. Even with excellent care the neuropathy has gradually grown worse. I spend a lot of time at the veterans' hospital and am grateful for the VA's care. Painting is my way of coping with the pain, which is ever present but more some days than others.
