Red Dragonfly on twig. He loved that twig and kept flying back to it.
My goal was to catch a dragonfly in flight; that is difficult because they fly very fast and change direction before the camera can catch up. Most of them are green and do not show up against green vegetation.
Then I saw a red blur that kept coming back to one twig. It turned out to be one of the most exquisite and delicate creatures I have ever seen, and he moved too fast to appreciate with the naked eye. The camera was able to catch him a maximum zoom from about six feet away after I switched to manual focus; the dragonfly moved too fast for auto focus. Wow!
