Irises are in full bloom in the spring! And, this is a Red Iris from Schreiner's Iris Gardens in Salem, Oregon. They are located in the Willamette Valley north of Salem. Schreiners has some 200 acres of world-class and, beautiful Iris.

The business started for them in 1925, in Minnesota by F.X. Schreiner. His skills in gardening turned into a passion with Iris.

Since, the family has carried on the his legacy and, the business has grown enormously, turning Oregon into the largest Iris grower in the United States.

Undoubtedly, Iris represent a breath of fresh air! It is unfortunate, but they only bloom in the spring. So, you have to enjoy them while you can!

You can visit them! The display Gardens are open usually from dawn to dusk. The bloom season, Iris show, gift shop are open everyday from the first week in May through the end of the month, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

They are 32 miles south of Portland and 5 miles north of downtown Salem. Schreiner's Iris Gardens is located at: 3625 Quinaby Road NE in Salem, Oregon.
