Artist's Description
Joe Reddington was the first musher to make the Iditarod trail run, the race that starts in Anchorage and ends in Nome, in Alaska.
This is a portrait of his boat near his home, which is about 13 miles from Wasilla, on Knik road. It got stranded after a high tide brought it too far inland, to the sandbar on which it still sits today.
It's been there for quite some time now and has been deteriorating, which is why I decided to draw a picture of it.
Original is 14x28 with a 10x24 graphite pencil drawing on strathmore 100lb bristol smooth paper.
