This is my first purchase from Fine Art America. I had an idea in my mind of what I wanted to hang in our newly renovated master bathroom wall. I searched all over the internet and then came upon Fine Art America online. It took months of searching but when I came upon Carol Robinson's collection I liked her style and soft, airy prints. I found Lost Horizon and knew right away that was the look I had been searching for. I like that I was able to choose the print size, frame, and mat that helped procure the look I wanted. I am now looking at other prints of Carol's to place in other rooms of our home. Thank you Carol for sharing your talent on Fine Art America.
Artist's Description
It's sadly easy to lose opportunities with people because of the limits we put on our own interactions. We stay with the comfortable, the non-threatening. But if we clear our gaze and approach the unfamiliar with an open heart, we are able to see and appreciate new lights in our day-to-day lives.
This image features bare trees silhouetted against a lighted sky. It began as separate photographs of trees in the wintertime, which were then layered with a sky background. The image was digitally re-colored to emphasize the "light in the ordinary" aspect. It's intended as a reminder of the importance of looking for the light in all things -- however individual persons see that light.
NOTE: The original image, Discovering the Light in the Ordinary, was featured (in 2016) in FAA groups Strictly Neon and Images That Excite You. This "Rediscovering" image is a brightened version of the original and now will serve as the primary image for the title(s).

About Claudia O'Brien
Artist Statement I have always loved intense color and strong light! It probably has something to do with growing up in mid-century Miami, a wonderland of saturated pastel colors from the neon lights that were everywhere in those days. I discovered photography fairly early and used my skills as a photographer to illustrate the many news stories and feature articles I wrote for newspapers and magazines over three decades. In recent years, I began experimenting with digital technology, changing my photo images in ways I never thought possible back in the days of 35mm film cameras.
