Farmall tractor sits
at the ready,
the workhorse of the old farm
in the midwest...
Found
along a country back road,
the pasture needs mowing
in the middle of the summer,
the tall Queen Anne's Lace
flowers blooming,
surrounding and decorating
the old tractor
and little red barn
in the back field.
The corn is almost ready
as morning storm clouds
gather overhead.
A big maple tree
offers protection above
from the rain and the sun,
in full summertime greenery
as the days are long,
wildflowers lush and vibrant
