Reflection Lake, with Chaos Crags, and Lassen Peak, in the background. Photo in black and white. Lassen Volcanic National Park is one of my favorite places in the whole world, located in the north eastern corner of California. The summit of Lassen Peak Volcano offers views over the surrounding wilderness. A network of trails through forest and around several lakes connects with the Pacific Crest Trail in the north. A wonderful area for hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, photography, wildlife viewing, exploring, birdwatching, meditation, camping, swimming, canoeing, anything your imagination can come up with. It’s a wonderful place to visit all year round, the main highway through the park is closed around 9 months every year, due to snow.
