My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. Thank you Mary Flore

Beautiful picture. Grew up on northshore so wanted something from there. Metal picture really shows the colors and picture quality is very clear.

This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

Artist's Description
This was a reflection on the rear window of a car parked near the front of my apartment building in Washington Heights (Manhattan), New York. The image as I shot it was horizontal but I turned it 90 degrees for a more "normal" orientation.
Per Wikipedia: Abstract photography, sometimes called non-objective, experimental, conceptual or concrete photography, is a means of depicting a visual image that does not have an immediate association with the object world and that has been created through the use of photographic equipment, processes or materials. An abstract photograph may isolate a fragment of a natural scene in order to remove its inherent context from the viewer, it may be purposely staged to create a seemingly unreal appearance from real objects, or it may involve the use of color, light, shadow, texture, shape and/or form to convey a feeling, sensation or impression. The image may be produced using traditional photographic equipment like a camera, darkroom or computer...
About Sarah Loft
I see art as not only creation, but also (and maybe primarily) as discovery. For the most part I do collage work and photography, but also enjoy pen and marker drawing, some occasional painting as well as more three dimensional work such as making baskets, dolls, and other objects. As you will see if you wander through my galleries, I have a very wide range of interests. Check out my Artist of the Day feature in Today's Visions.com, curated and written by Mark Myhaver. http://galleries.todaysvisions.com/2014/08/13/todays-featured-artist-sarah-loft/ Some of my artwork appears on products sold at Zazzle. So well seen and endlessly fascinating. There is often something Escheresque about the fire escapes on the exteriors of old buildings like this one and here the distortion emphasizes that and gives it a Dadaesque look at the same time. This is one of my two Picks of the Day in the Best of Minimalism in Photography group for September 5.
Sarah Loft replied:
Thank you, Nikolyn! I really appreciate your insightful comment.
