This is the first Oil Painting I ever did, I remember it well. It has been hanging in my Aunt's home for years. A nice find! I get to re photograph it and hang it back in my home. I first started Oil Painting at age 5 and started studying under the guidance of a Miss Alice Overhultzer from Canfield, Ohio.
This is my first finished Oil from one of Miss Alice's classes. She lived on the most beautiful farm I had ever seen and always sent me home with an egg. Alice lived with her two Sisters. One taught Classical Piano and one taught Harp. As a little girl, being at this wonderful home were some of my first formed childhood memories. I loved the 18 mile drive out to my lessons although I recall Mom groaning about the long drive! A proud accomplishment to present to her for her long hours!

Janice Rae Pariza was born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1955 and raised in Ohio, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Nova Scotia and Connecticut. She has been painting since the age of eight. A self taught painter, she supplemented her natural abilities by studying privately for 14 years. A realist in the medium oil, her subject matter has varied throughout the years. She has expanded into the realm of the Abstract and Impressionism. Extensive travel in the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean is reflected in her paintings and photography. ***15% of all proceeds are donated to the ASPCA.
