Great image. I love that lake.

Gorgeous scenery!

I appreciate that, Nina! I was very pleased to see this scene before me, as it was nothing but thick fog just ten minutes before the sun crested the horizon and burned enough away to see the distant mountain and reflections!

I bought this for my husband as we go to Sebago every year and have for past 25 years. I wanted it to look like you were looking out a window out to the lake. Putting the black border around the actual picture made it look exactly that way. The frame was the rustic type I wanted. Really well done.

A print of a beautiful painting by C J Elsip. I'd love to own the original.

the mat show light green in this picture but it is dirty cream color in actuality. Does not go with what I have in the room. the picture itself is very nice. no one knows it is stairs unless I tell them.

Artist's Description

Price Lake, pictured above, is part of the larger Julian Price Memorial Park, comprising over 4,200 acres in the shadows of the looming Grandfather Mountain. Originally the plot of land where Price Lake now rests was purchased by Julian Price, an insurance executive at Jefferson Pilot Standard Life Insurance Company, in the 1940s to be developed into a resort for company employees. Following an untimely death in 1946, Price's son and daughther cooperated to donate the land that is today administered by the National Park Service. The forty-seven acre lake was created in honor and memory of Price by damming Boone Fork Creek. Julian Price Memorial Park features the largest campground along the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway and together with the adjacent Moses H. Cone Memorial Park, Julian Price Memorial Park forms the largest developed area set aside for public recreation along the length of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Julian Price Memorial Park is located in Watauga County, We...

About Mark VanDyke

Mark VanDyke is an outdoor freelance photographer focusing on the Appalachian Mountains and Atlantic Coastlines. His work attempts to respect the natural world through honest representation of place, often during moments of exceptional atmospheric conditions. ----- Outdoor Photography is a very physical, experiential way of creating that is simply addictive as hell to me personally! I canít seem to get enough of it. I long for the next trip and the next frame and the next opportunity: the feeling of settling into nature's rhythms, the anticipation and the contentment when I find and execute a meaningful frame. Outdoor Photography has allowed me to combine a love for physical movement and wild places with a need to be creative and...
