About Craig Carlson
I have always enjoyed drawing, almost since I was old enough to hold a pencil. My favorite subjects to draw early in life were sports figures and wildlife. Growing up, I was always inspired by the small, wild animals and birds I encountered walking the cornfields of my family's farm. The pheasants, rabbits, squirrels, deer and occasional red fox were among my first subjects. If I would have to pick a favorite subject these days, it would have to be the Raptors. Nothing is quite as impressive as the eyes of an eagle or hawk. All work in this gallery is the original work of Craig Carlson. It is for sale, © 2011 Craig Carlson and, as such, is protected by US & International Copyright laws.

Angela Davies
A beautifully composed work of art! The detail and realism are wonderful! You have done a superb job with the ice and feathers! v/f
Craig Carlson replied:
Thank you Angela. The icy/snowy season is fast approaching.
Dee Dee Murry
I think this is my favorite of yours I love the red berries with the red of the male and the dead leaves that mimic the browns of the female. You painted the ice perfectly too!
Craig Carlson replied:
Thanks Dee Dee! Got that Tiger done yet? Craig
Anne Norskog
Your cardinals are so lifelike one expects them to fly off to a more sheltered place. The Pacific Northwest where I live just experienced such a storm as the one you have painted to beautifully. The birds all huddled just as you have shown so well. Excellent!
Craig Carlson replied:
Thanks again Anne! Ice is alot of fun to paint, but I can do without it. Causes so much damage to trees. No fun to drive on either. Craig
Bill Cannon
