I ordered three artworks by the same artist and had them framed and matted exactly the same β white outer mat and 1/4-inch inner black mat. The white mats were (barely) acceptably cut but the black mats were all ragged. Of 12 possible cuts β 3 mats x 4 corners β 12 cuts were poor quality. It looks like a dull knife to me and a "that's good enough" attitude by the employee. Also, one of the frame corners is sloppy. See both photos.

Brent Borup was born in Boise, Idaho and currently lives in Preston, Idaho with his wife and three children, fulfilling his dream of being an artist. He considers it a great blessing to be able to share his talents with the world. He loves to paint pictures of Jesus Christ. Having a picture of Jesus in our home helps us focus on Him more, remember Him more, and want to be more like Him.
