Artist's Description
A rhinoceros beetle specimen I found at the entomology lab at the university, photographed through display glass. I layered it onto a old tin plate from a secondhand store, along with some very worn flatware. I was inspired by a scene from the old Charles Laughton version of Mutiny on the Bounty, where the crew were faced with worm infested bread. I thought I'd just take it up a notch. Natural light through gauze curtains. Post editing in Perfect Effects increasing sharpness, contrast, and level
