Atop a giant volcanic cinder cone in Northern California's Lassen Volcanic National Park life has began taking hold. For now there are just a few trees and small plants but in time the volcanic rock will become rich soil, giving life to many varieties of vegetation which will nourish wildlife. The beautiful circle of life taking place before our eyes.
