What a gorgeous scene and painting. Love the lighting in this. Your poem is dazzling. The teenage angst and the lessons we learn. Tragic, sad, yet beautiful. The star today.

I love the golden light and rich tones, and the misty feel of the horizon. And the reflection of the light on the water. And the glimpse of a winding road... This is gorgeous Gina! It feels so peaceful and full of promise for a new day... Wow. Your poem. Tragic and poignant and beautiful. Although I read it through the narrator's voice, I can't help but feel the pain and heartbreak of the friend. And think of all the "if onlys". A tragic story (for both) that shouldn't have ended that way, but at fifteen and alone... Wow Gina. Brilliant and powerful work. l/f!

RC deWinter replied:

As always I value your insights and encouragement, thank you, Meg. It was a long slog to the finished poem...how much to say, how to say it? Casting myself back so many decades to thar age, although it's not autobiographical in the literal sense.,,,merci encore

Regina, the connections we have all made, through-out our lives are so valuable. Our honest fears and doubts we have held or discarded. Our yearing to know the other - be it a man a woman or something in between. Our curiosity and our courage define our wonderful lives. Your gift for finding these hidden mysterys and expressing them is beyond wonderful. I am thrilled to read your new work- Susan Brown.fac twfav

There is a world I feel with deep emotion in this image and in the writing. Wonderful when emotions are touched from art. F/L Gina.

RC deWinter replied:

Although the poem is fantasy, there are truths from life woven in. Even when I write in a more surreal vein, a la the masquerade piece, I'm always reach deep inside for some truth. Thank you.
