Great service and beautiful results. Loved how easy it was to shop for the exact style and size of art we wanted, choose every aspect of framing, and get it delivered right to our door. I doubt this will be our last time ordering through Conde Nast :)

We love our Lexicon Tree of Life 3. The framing and painting were exactly what we wanted and it was delivered on time and in perfect condition.

Artist's Description

Rock microveins. Light micrograph of a thin section of a rock, showing numerous thin, quartz-filled veins (white) that developed during different phases of the rock's existence. Different sets of veins can be identified by studying their alignment. The age of the veins can be determined by studying how they have been affected by later phases of deformation.

About Dirk Wiersma

Science Photo Library was founded in 1981 by Michael Marten, one of the authors of "Worlds Within Worlds", a book exploring different ways to observe the universe - from electron micrographs, to images of earthrise taken from the Apollo spacecraft. When Marten started receiving requests for the beautiful images in the book, he had an idea of setting up Science Photo Library. Since then, Science Photo Library has continued to work alongside world acclaimed photographers and the leading science and medical experts to provide a central source of the best science and specialist imagery available. Although the collection started with scientific images, it has grown to encompass all aspects of science and their impact on everyday life.
