Description
This piece features two of the rooftop level windows of the Casa Mila in Barcelona, Spain. Designed by the famous Catalonian architect, Antoni Gaudi, in the early 1900's, this building is a constant surprise, from the inside to the outside, from the bottom to the top. This part of the building, visible from the rooftop "garden" of the residence, is a kind of sloping roof above what appears to be the attic. In my original photo, the walls are a kind of gray-brown. However, I did not "paint" this photograph. As I was working to bring out the texture of the stucco, these colors began to emerge, so I decided to go with them. Gaudi himself seemed to love lavish displays of color, so I like to think he might enjoy them :)
