Casey, This drawing called "Roper at the Rodeo", was this one originally drawn from a photograph at an outdoor rodeo during the daytime? Is there a painting of it, too or just the drawing? Was it photographed in 1996? What year did you paint it from the photograph, was it 2001 or 2008 you painted "South Texas Cowboy" from the 1996 photograph? How many swings did it take the tie-down steer roper to lasso the steer, was it one or two or three or four or five swings to catch the horns? After he trips the steer, does he get of the left hand side and was the steer laying on the right or left hand side? Does he tie with his left hand or his right hand as if whatever side the steer is laying on? Does he tie up the legs with one or two or three wraps and a "hooey" (slang term for half hitch)? Does he do all of this in record time and is he fast at this event? Type soon, hopefully and well, it was really nice meeting you and hopefully and really type soon and just say to me that I'll forever have best wishes and that I'll have real good luck on the real rodeo circuit at my both my rodeo calf roping and western artwork, Your best new friend as a western artist, avid singer and avid guitar player, ranch roper and rodeo calf roper William MacLeod (the true Canadian-American tie-down roper: King of the Ropers) :)
