Rust In Full Bloom Beach Towel

Image Size

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Congratulations, Mary! Your image has been featured on the FAA group Forgotten by Time

Wow! Fantastic capture Mary! It's said to see in in this condition, but it is still beautiful. l/fv

Well spotted Mary I live not too far away from Placerville must pay a visit see if it's still there.

Mary Deal replied:

Thank you for your comments, Anthony. If I remember correctly, this is way up Happy Valley Road near Somerset. Let me see your pictures if you get some.

Well seen!

What a find, Ms Mary Deal. I love it!! FL

I love the title!

Chris, this is on Happy Valley Road, past the severe uphill switchback and on and on into the next high valley. Last time I was there, the person who owned the property had placed a mailbox right in front of the scene so you can't get a great shot like this one. Strange, too, that no one lives on the property.

Where is this located? I used to go to Placerville every week in 1996-7. But I mostly travelled hi way 49 from Plymouth to Placerville. Also I went thru Mt Aukum, Somerset and Fiddletown. Old rusted out cars fascinate me. I like this.

Hi Marveta. Will see this hulk again in October. Am anxious to see what two years time has done to it.

I love old cars, trucks, and barns.. this is very inspiring.. I had done the pieces before vacation. Just a little slow getting them on line.

Please choose (for the bottom and top - at approx. 8cm each) a light apricot color, that fits to the apricot color between ("AT THE" and "BEACH" - thank you). I´m irritated with the size of the towel. Is it something about 0,95-1m x 1,7-1,8m? Or had I better choosen the "sheet" size??

Artist's Description

This rusted Model A sits along a narrow mountain road east of Placerville, California. Rust, as well as bullet holes, cover the shell. It is one of the best images of abandoned cars I have found to date. Abandoned automobiles can be found in many mountain regions, at least in the Sierra foothills in California where my brother lives. What stories these old cars might tell.
