I am fascinated with the idea of a mystic and visceral relationship between beautiful women and wild animals. This subject was inspired initially by the expression I saw fleetingly on a girl's face. An image of a quiet forest and a stag came into my mind and I began working on reference photos to create it. The colours are luminous and rich and the feel is of a place of both safety and magic. The woman isn't entirely mythical in feel however; she could almost have stepped out from a contemporary ballroom into a different, more ethereal world. The painting is on deep edged canvas continued round the edges, so can be unframed but can also be framed if desired.

I was born in England but my family swiftly moved to Africa and growing up there I saw many wild animals first hand and fell in love with them. I currently live near London but close enough also to the beautiful Sussex countryside and sea. I also spend a lot of time in California which offers entirely different painting opportunities; especially the coastal regions. I have been an Artist most of my adult life doing Portraits, Murals and other Decorative artwork. Largely self taught, I trained for a year in France with Master Realist Ted Seth Jacobs.
