Description
The flower of the giant Saguaro cactus is the State Flower of Arizona, even though it is native to only the desert of the southern portion of the state. It blooms at night to be pollinated by bats, but also remains open through the morning hours so that birds and bees multiply its reproductive chances. The flowers are typically found at the very top of the cactus, or the end of an arm high in the air. The plant is the namesake of Saguaro National Park.
This landscape mural is part of my "West By Southwest - An American Mural Project" collection. Like all of the others in the collection it is formatted in the 3:5 ratio and are only available in the 20" x 12", 24" x 14.375", 30" x 18", 40" x 24", 48" x 28.75", 60" x 36" and 72" x 43.25" sizes.
