Saint Cyril invented a Slavic alphabet, and, with the help of Saint Methodius tiranslated the Gospels and certain liturgical works into Slavonic. During the last four years of his life, Saint Methodius had completed the Slavonic translation of the Bible. To the Slavic peoples Cyril and Methodius are the most honored apostles.
