The ruins of the church of St. Thomas a Beckett, Heptonstall. The ruins form a picturesque backdrop for the annual Pace Egg Play which is performed in the village every Good Friday. The true meaning of the play is lost in the mists of time, but probably has its origins in a pagan spring equinox ritual.
